Hardie® Plank Starter Strip

Hardie Plank starter strip and ventilation profile is compatible with our Hardie Plank cladding boards. The starter profile comes in three different thicknesses to fit 25mm, 38mm and 50mm battens. 25mm is technically the minimum recommended size batten that should be used to achieve a free-flow ventilation gap between the cladding layer and substrate. This is in order to achieve the required gap of 20mm. It is also important that there is at least a 10mm air inlet and air outlet gap at the base and the roofline above doors and windows.
